According to a statement issued by the İmralı delegation, after a long hiatus they held a comprehensive meeting with Abdullah Öcalan. During the meeting, they discussed recent political developments in the region, the construction of a democratic society, the current stage of the peace process, and the establishment of a legal framework for it.

The delegation released the following statement:

As the İmralı delegation of the DEM Party, following a long break, we held a comprehensive meeting with Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. During the meeting, we discussed in detail the political developments in the region, the building of a democratic society, the current phase of the peace process, and how to establish a legal framework for it. During the meeting, Mr. Öcalan made the following assessment for sharing with the public:
"Our commitment to advancing in the spirit of the February 27 Call and resolving this issue within the framework of fraternity remains steadfast. We are on the threshold of a historic transformation and a renewed alliance between Kurds and Turks. Throughout the most critical stages of Anatolia's history, this alliance has remained inseparable, and it now requires a comprehensive legal framework.
The historical reality that 'if you separate a Kurd from a Turk, neither can truly exist' demonstrates the necessity of developing a shared and equal life together.
The time has come to establish a legal framework that respects the sensitivities of all sides. Opening this path with patience is a historic opportunity. Let us all build a common future together by abandoning narrow, restrictive, and confrontational approaches.
Everyone must make every possible effort to initiate the legal process, completely eliminate conflict and armed confrontation, and open an entirely new chapter. This should proceed within the framework of the report prepared by the National Unity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
The Kurdish–Turkish alliance is the cornerstone of Anatolia's shared future. Every step we take should be built upon the culture of these lands. Through legal guarantees, this alliance can become permanent, allowing us to live together freely and equally in a democratic republic.
Negative law must be transformed into positive law. History is offering us an opportunity to build a common life and open a new chapter based on equality and justice. I firmly believe that together we can seize this historic opportunity."
The İmralı delegation concluded its statement by describing Öcalan's appeal as historic. The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to continuing constructive dialogue with all relevant institutions, particularly the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, in order to move the process forward effectively and achieve a lasting solution based on the principles of fraternity and democracy.
