Draw:
(Draw Media Institution) carries out its operations with the financial support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). It utilizes this financial support to develop its website in three languages (Kurdish, Arabic, English), as well as (Draw Dialogue), (Draw Survey), and (Draw Harvest), along with graphics, reports, and its journalistic works.
The National Endowment for Democracy, known as (NED) and headquartered in Washington, funds free and private media organizations and institutions; it has been funding (Draw Media Institution) since 2023.
From (1/2/2026) to (31/1/2029), it has renewed its funding for Draw Media Institution for a period of three years, at an annual amount of (35) thousand dollars.
(Draw) is pleased that, through receiving this support from (NED), it has proven to institutions both inside and outside Kurdistan that it is a (free, independent, and neutral) media outlet, and has successfully emerged from this test by an international organization such as the (National Endowment for Democracy).
The financial support of the (National Endowment for Democracy) is managed transparently and, like all other institutions in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region that have received its support, places (Draw) under transparency monitoring at the level of the U.S. Congress; this further moves (Draw) towards institutionalization.
Now, after receiving the financial support of the (National Endowment for Democracy), (Draw) is taking its work to a new stage and utilizing the financial and moral support of (NED) to develop the website and publish its news and investigative reports in both (Arabic and English).
Within the framework of this financial support, (Draw) will dedicate a portion of its work to preparing investigative reports on monitoring the oil sector in the Kurdistan Region, aiming for greater transparency in this sector.
The (National Endowment for Democracy) is a private non-profit institution that supports the growth and strengthening of democratic institutions worldwide. This fund was established in 1983, and currently, several institutions in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region benefit from the financial support of this fund.
